Clergy & Congregation Care Training

The Rev. Dr. Roy Carter, Jan Prentice, LCSW, The Rev. Dr. Paul Towers and Marian Towers from the Samaritan Counseling Center recently attended two days of specialized training on the subject of Clergy and Congregation Care.  Training was held in Scotia, New York and was sponsored by the Samaritan Institute of Denver, Colorado.  The Clergy and Congregation Care Program is designed to help Samaritan Centers develop and expand their services to respond to the needs of faith communities and their leaders.

Our local Samaritan staff is available to not only provide clergy and congregations with educational opportunities on a variety of topics for spiritually-based groups, but also to function as facilitators for planning retreats and as professional consultants concerning conflict resolution, leadership development, planning, and problem solving for both clergy and lay leaders.

The Samaritan Counseling Center of the Southern Tier is one of ninety-five accredited counseling centers in the United States and is located at 202 East Main Street, in Endicott.  The Center is celebrating 25 years of service to the Southern Tier community.

If you are interested any of these services or would like more information, please call Marian Towers, Executive Director, at 607-754-2660.
